The third meeting of Hemel Hempstead, final stage of the launch phase. Upon joining 4networking, i've gone through being the operations assistant for Hatfield and am now group leading this brilliant breakfast meeting, i have to admit - it's very enjoyable and being part of the team has been beneficial to our business!
I arrived at the Hemel meeting at 7:20 to find that Katie and Rachel weren't there, however a member - Stephen from Yarrow - already was, dedication or what? Not to worry, they'll be here soon i thought, and then Graham Spurgeon from Business Dashboards turned up. Worried, i sent a quick message to Katie and typically she then came round the corner into the garden room where we hold the event!
People began to arrive fast and the room was pretty jammed before 8oclock, with lots of coffee being drunk and networking taking place!
Earlier in the week i made a decision to have only one full english per week. This happened to be the only one i had attended, so i was lucky enough to fill up my plate with sausages, bacon, eggs and beans!
Due to being Group leader, i made fast work of the breakfast, and then began to read the script as others finished theirs. Soon after we were onto the 40 seconds, and i picked on a very colourful looking Chris Bown (orange shirt) to start us off. Some funny, and some less funny 40 seconds later, and we were onto the arranging of our 1-2-1's and then the 4Sighter - Gary Johannes!
Gary gave us a great insight into how 4Networking has not only worked for him, but how it could work for us. Recently Gary has become very tightly integrated with 4Networking and supporting people to expand how they can use it to benefit their business at large, and explained how he went through the paces himself, and how it has benefited him not only for his company, but for other ongoing projects such as Brave.
Brave is about Gary and his son cycling across Vietnam to raise money for the unit that helped his son walk again. To learn more about the story, and to find out how you can donate, go to : http://brave-spinal-injuries.blogspot.com/
The three 10 minute meetings were organised quite efficiently, i held back one of my cards to see who i would meet as pot luck, and this happened to be Matthew Purser from Edgeward, the other two were snapped up by Chris Bown of Marketing International and Stephen from Yarrow.
Brilliant meeting, some excellent networking as well as some funny moments thrown in. Seems to be a regular occurance (much like the after coffee on the couch eh Katie) for Hemel Hempstead.
Hehe... good news this week Ogle senior also in the room, he is the second half (or almost half) of Team Ogle... he has also brought his sister along who runs her own Bookkeeping business KD Accounting (half the family at this weeks meeting!), well that shows the power of 4Networking ... we even get our families involved (eh Katie?)
Chris Ogle had some great 1-2-1's and asked me to mention thanks to Margaret Finnegan - My04Consulting and Joe Austin - Big Idea Marketing as well as Katie Millman - Jam.co.uk who all provide some great joint venture and collaboration options going forward.
Hopefully Auntie Karen will join my dad as a 4Networker too! My turn to write the blog post this week, but look out for Chris Ogle working his passport harder from March 1st, and starting to become active on the forums... He has promised to write some of these blog posts in the future in return for me booking 4Sight slots for him... the 4Sight topics include 'Cloud Computing' and 'Building your own Internet marketing Department'and other related areas, so if you are involved with running a group and would like Chris to 4Sight for you then please let me know as well...
See you all next time!
