Watford 4Networking Meeting - Thursday February 24th 2010
My second outing at a 4Networking meeting, my first at the Hemel Hempstead inaugural meeting almost one month ago now. I must admit although joining up, I haven't had much of a chance to really get into the whole 4Networking scene, but I am keen to start becoming more involved and also to get on the 4sight trail around the country.
I arrived at the Watford meeting to find that I was not booked in... Otis couldn't have booked me in although he did advise me to turn up... oh well so much for planning. Anyhow I was made welcome and then went in search of a coffee... Surprisingly there were 3 or 4 people that I already knew, people who Otis had brought to the office to meet with me.
The full English breakfast made a pleasant change (normally I am a fruit for breakfast man!) and whilst eating we commenced the 40 second round where everyone gets a chance to introduce themselves and their business. The meeting was very well attended and breakfast finished well before everyone had spoke.

After the 40 second round an interesting and super performance by Dan Luxon - Performance in Business who was 4sighting here in Watford today... 4sights are an opportunity to speak for 10 minutes as an expert in your field and give those in the room a chance to gain a more detailed insight into their field.
Dan gave us a great taster on practical tips and handy hints to help combat the worlds no.1 fear... Public speaking! allegedly even more feared than death itself! If anyone has the chance to see Dan perform his foresight then it is definately worth the early morning, even though the waitress on this occasion demonstrated a different view! (in joke for those that were there).
Three 10 minute meetings were organised very quickly for myself... Carl French, Dan Luxon and Suraj Sodha... can't believe how quickly those 10 minutes disappear... then that's it a quick round up of events by Iain Gray (Group leader... and tired with a 3 month old daughter).. an opportunity to continue networking and then off for a days work...

Was great to meet you this morning Chris.
